Optimized IMG 2918

A solid design is a key to any successful project.

At Prodigy, our design engineers consider all critical aspects of the mold design, including manufacturability, gating, cooling, venting, ejection, part transfer, and material selections. Accounting for all of these factors can be challenging. It demands a breadth of knowledge that only comes with experience.

Prodigy Mold & Tool is committed to providing superior mold design and engineering services. Our reputation for high quality stems from our experienced design staff. Our design engineers have years of experience designing plastic injection molds for a wide variety of challenging parts.

Right from the onset, our plastic injection molds are designed with an emphasis on efficiency and functionality. The result is production timesaving, longer-lasting tools, and fewer modifications.

Design for Manufacturability

Design for manufacturability (DFM) is the practice of designing products in such a way that they are easy to manufacture. At Prodigy Mold & Tool, DFM is one of our core concepts. Which is why our engineering team works closely with YOUR engineering team to provide a smooth transition from part design to the final product.

By using DFM practices, our engineers can fix potential problems in the design phase -- the least expensive place to address them.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

Optimized IMG 2953With the advent of computer-aided design (CAD) software, engineers are now able to create accurate 3D models. This improved 3D accuracy allows the shape and properties of the designed geometry to be much easier to understand. (In fact, some complex geometries would be virtually impossible to correctly understand without seeing them in three dimensions.)

At Prodigy, we utilize the latest CAD/CAM programs to design our molds. This advanced software creates solutions for conceptual designs, 3D solid modeling, mold design and details, revision control, tool drawings, and documentation. Our experienced engineers are thoroughly trained to make any required changes to the geometry quickly and easily. Any error or potential errors are immediately identified and corrected.

Prodigy invests in some of the most powerful software systems available. Our strict attention to detail ensures the success of your project.

Once our engineers have produced a CAD model, it can then be transformed into a mesh or solid model, then simulated for analyzing and testing purposes.

Simulation and Analysis

Optimized IMG 2974At Prodigy, our engineers simulate and analyze the mold flow for every project, using the latest computer-aided engineering (CAE) software. Mold flow analysis ensures that the mold we build for you will be capable of producing durable, uniform parts from each cavity.

We use CAE software to create in-depth mold flow simulation. Our CAE program is one of the world's leading CAE products for the plastic injection molding industry.

Our CAE software works together with our CAD software to integrate the mold design and the injection molding activity. Filling analysis, warpage calculations, and thermal optimization are simulated to ensure you of the best possible mold design. By using CAE for these various analyses of injection molding processes, we optimize product design and manufacturability. CAE allows us to immediately see if any changes to the tool design will affect its performance.

Our design engineers review each project thoroughly and repeatedly before steel is ever cut.

You Can Trust Prodigy

At Prodigy Mold & Tool, our engineers make every effort to create a mold that provides more value and better performance to our customers. Venting, cooling, and ejection are always approached with the customer in mind. The result is an ideal process window for the manufacturing of your superior part.

You can trust our experienced mold designers to move your project from initial concept into production fast -- and precisely to your specifications. Let our experienced design engineers turn your concepts into exceptional molds!
