Design for Manufacturability
Design for manufacturability (DFM) is the practice of designing products in such a way that they are easy to manufacture. At Prodigy Mold & Tool, DFM is one of our core concepts. Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
With the advent of computer-aided design (CAD) software, engineers are now able to create accurate 3D models. This improved 3D accuracy allows the shape and properties of the designed geometry to be much easier to understand. (In fact, some complex geometries would be virtually impossible to correctly understand without seeing them in three dimensions.)

Simulation and Analysis
At Prodigy, our engineers simulate and analyze the mold flow for every project, using the latest computer-aided engineering (CAE) software. Mold flow analysis ensures that the mold we build for you will be capable of producing durable, uniform parts from each cavity.
We use CAE software to create in-depth mold flow simulation. Our CAE program is one of the world's leading CAE products for the plastic injection molding industry.
Our CAE software works together with our CAD software to integrate the mold design and the injection molding activity. Filling analysis, warpage calculations, and thermal optimization are simulated to ensure you of the best possible mold design. By using CAE for these various analyses of injection molding processes, we optimize product design and manufacturability. CAE allows us to immediately see if any changes to the tool design will affect its performance.
